Should you let your browser save passwords for you?

To Save or Not To Save

Ah, the eternal struggle: to let your browser save your passwords or not? It’s a question we’ve all faced at one time or another. You might have even asked yourself: Google Chrome password manager vs LastPass, which would win in a fight?

On one hand, you don’t have to remember anything and you can just click that “log in” button like a boss. On the other hand, it’s a possible security nightmare. Can you guess why? Let’s find out.

The Problem With Your Browsers Password Manager

Yes, letting your browser save your password can be convenient. After all, who wants to remember a million different passwords for a million different websites? Not me, that’s for sure. And with your password saved in the browser, you can quickly and easily login to your favorite sites with just a click.

But, as with most things in life, there’s a catch. When you let your browser save your password, you’re also putting your security at risk. If someone gains access to your computer, they can easily log in to any site where your password is saved. And if you’re using the same password for multiple sites, which no one should ever do (but, let’s face it, many of us are), it can be devastating to your privacy and personal finances.

So, what then?

What’s the solution? It’s simple, really. Use a password manager. A password manager is a secure and encrypted tool that stores all your passwords in one place. If you’re using a password manager you only have to remember one master password and the password manager takes care of the rest. In addition to being more secure, a password manager is also more convenient. By using a password manager you have easy access to all of your passwords from any supported device.

So, should you let your browser save your password? The answer is no. Instead, use a password manager for convenience and security. And if you’re still not convinced, just think about the time your friend posted embarrassing things on Facebook page because you left your phone sitting unlocked. Yeah, you don’t want that happening again, do you?
